Attaching the 120m long pipeline to the back reamer. The pipe is 180mm Ø the back reamer is 250mm Ø. The additional 35mm cut around the outside of the pipeline lubricates the borehole with the slurry of cuttings and drilling fluid suspending the pipeline and allowing room for the cuttings to flow out of the borehole down the sides of the pipeline into the terminal trench and into pressure relief wells excavated in alignment with the borehole.
